This was a recent challenging sketch I had done especially for the rooftop and the wall sculptures.Chinese temple is always full of details and I had simplified them here and some were from my artistic imagination. By the way, this was drawn from reference photo.
The colours I used is from mission gold watercolour 12 colours set.As the set does not have cerulean blue for the sky ,I replaced it using another brand which is the Daley Rowney Simply Aquawatercolour. That is a student grade watercolour set. At the end, I used some splashing technique on the sketch to spice up the effect. This temple is actually from George Town ,Penang. The actual photo colour was not intense and looks abit run down.So for this sketch, I applied more water to the pigment instead.
I will be going for cruising holidays end of November and maybe stopping by Penang for a few hours excursion.Hope I will have time to sketch more.
